Beyond the File is a multi-disciplinary safeguarding consultancy practice built on over 30 years of combined experience in social work and mental health nursing. We bring a trauma-informed approach and compassionate leadership style to every engagement.

Becca Clements

Becca Clements

Registered Mental Health Nurse (MSc)

Registered Mental Health Nurse with a broad range of experience including Forensics, Acute Care Pathways and most recently a Senior Safeguarding, Mental Capacity and Public Protection Practitioner for a large Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism NHS Foundation Trust for over 6 years.

Becca has extensive experience giving advice in the field of safeguarding adults and children, domestic abuse and complex mental capacity cases to frontline practitioners. At a managerial level, she has managed a multidisciplinary team of safeguarding practitioners within the NHS.

She has significant experience in partnership working with Boards, undertaking IMR reviews on behalf of an NHS Trust, and has a proven track record in leading safeguarding across organisations, including sign off on the jointly used Mental Capacity Act Policy across health organisations.

Becca has significant experience in managing and reviewing allegations against staff, resulting in additional training being implemented across the Trust and contributing to improved practice and more positive outcomes for patients.

  • Competent at delivering Level 3 Safeguarding Adults, Children, Mental Capacity Act and Domestic Abuse training

Kirsty Findlay

Kirsty Findlay

Registered Social Worker (MSc, LL.B)

Registered Social Worker with substantial experience including Youth Offending, Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion and CAMHS Harmful Sexual Behaviours. Most recently a Senior Safeguarding, Mental Capacity and Public Protection Practitioner for a large Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism NHS Foundation Trust for over 5 years.

Kirsty has an in-depth understanding of domestic abuse, with MARAC representative and chair experience in a large rural county. She has extensive experience providing support and advice to frontline practitioners on complex safeguarding, mental capacity and domestic abuse cases.

She has significant experience of partnership working with Boards in writing IMRs for SARs and DARDRs, and in delivering mandatory safeguarding training to Level 3 standard across adults, children, mental capacity and domestic abuse.

Kirsty has significant experience in managing and reviewing allegations against staff, contributing to improved practice and more positive outcomes for patients across the Trust.
